Glazed Beetroot Salad

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 12 young beetroots
- 25 ml butter
- 2 onions, sliced
- 6 shallots or 6 small onions, chopped
- 12 1/2 ml honey
- 12 1/2 ml flour
- 5 ml red wine vinegar
- 5 ml salt
- 10 ml chopped fresh basil or 5 ml dried basil
Recipe
- 1 scrape and quarter beetroot.
- 2 melt butter in a saucepan and sauté onions and shallots until transparent.
- 3 add beetroot and simmer for 5 minutes, adding a little water if necessary.
- 4 combine honey, flour and vinegar and add to saucepan.
- 5 sprinkle with salt and marjoram, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
- 6 cool before serving.
