Creamed Dried Beef

Total Time: 10 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 lbs dried beef, sliced
  • 15 cups warm whole milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1/2 cup shortening or 1/2 cup salad oil
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 teaspoon black pepper

Recipe

  • 1 separate dried beef slices.
  • 2 saute slices in shortening until edges begin to curl.
  • 3 set aside.
  • 4 heat milk until just below boiling. (do not allow to boil!).
  • 5 combine butter with flour and pepper and add to milk.
  • 6 cook 5 minutes until thickened.
  • 7 add beef to sauce and blend well.
  • 8 serve over noodles or toast.
